William “Bill” Carrier is a senior business operator with experience in leading revenue growth via customer-centric marketing, product management, eCommerce and omnichannel experiences. He has presented business cases for and led bold online initiatives at critical points in two leading, multi-billion-dollar distributors. Bill is a highly entrepreneurial, transformational leader, with a knack for building teams in matrixed organizations who bring to life visionary concepts and successful business offerings in distribution channels.

Bill is a co-founder of Grainger’s latest e-commerce platform Gamut.com. Bill’s concept for presenting curated, related products fit Grainger’s vision for segmenting business customers with differentiated e-commerce platforms. Gamut.com publicly launched in June.

Since leaving Gamut, Bill advises companies seeking guidance on digital transformations most recently helping Office Depot and Corning Fiber Optics to develop roadmaps for revamping their digital presence.

Bill spent 20 years at McMaster-Carr in senior leadership. He led merchandising of McMaster-Carr’s fastest-growing, highest profit margin product categories including electrical, fasteners, power transmission, and raw materials. Bill built and led McMaster-Carr’s team architecting its industry-leading website with all software being developed internally from keyword search, faceted navigation to checkout.
