Waffles are great, any time anywhere. An easy way to celebrate National Waffle Day in an office (without a lot of space or ingredients) is to make them from a baking mix. A favorite mix is Baker Mills’ Kodiak Cakes. Truly a “just add water” situation. There were THREE waffle irons in use to quickly make enough waffles for the team to enjoy together for lunch.
Most of the country had solar eclipse fever in the weeks leading up to the big event in August. We were no different and had our solar glasses ready. Throughout the morning, we took short breaks to check out the eclipse from the street corner, offering to share our glasses and enthusiasm with strangers passing on the street.
To celebrate National Chocolate Ice Cream day, we walked along the Milwaukee Riverwalk near our offices through the Third Ward and into Walker’s Point to get a cone or dish of one of the many flavors in the dipping cabinet at Purple Door Ice Cream. It is hard to limit oneself to JUST chocolate ice cream when there are flavors like Whiskey, Salted Caramel, Raspberry Green Tea, Beer and Pretzels and many others. Personal favorite: Oreo/Cookies and Cream.
