Custom Craftsmanship for an Assembly Line World

Because each project is completely unique,
it pays to define your development process

When most of your customers are manufacturers, it's natural to gain an appreciation for precision, procedures and productivity. That's why you'll find an extra element of rigor in the Brilliance Business Solutions e-commerce development process. The diligence shows in three key components of our project management approach.

  1. Thorough fact finding. Each new Brilliance client engagement starts when we begin filling out an extensive client inventory.  In addition to helping us define the exact parameters of the project, it also serves as a thought-provoking spur to conversation with a client's internal stakeholders about potential needs, challenges and opportunities.
  2. A precisely designed process. Because manufacturers enjoy knowing how things work, we begin a well defined, fully documented development process document the moment an agreement is signed. To examine the details, we've included a sample view of our template. The real document is customized by our in-house project manager to reflect a client's key concerns.
  3. Measurable milestones. To please manufacturers who control processes for a living, it's a good idea to create a set of formal progress milestones that involve all of a client company's relevant stakeholders. This is especially important in Brilliance's specialty: integrating e-commerce storefronts with a manufacturing company's existing accounting, order entry, customer service, shipping, ERP, MIS and IT functions.

To those outside of manufacturing, this extra thoroughness could seem cumbersome. Manufacturers don't see it that way. They know through factory floor experience that a rigorous process is the quickest, most reliable route to a profitable product.
