Beware of Domain Name Thiefs

The Domain Registry of America (DROA) has made a practice of contacting domain name owners as their domain name expiration approaches and making them think that their domain name is very close to expiring (when in actuality there is time left for the renewal process).  In addition, they misled domain name owners into believing their domain name was registered with DROA in the first place - when in fact - it was not.  They encourage the domain name owner to "renew" their domain, when in actuality they are requesting a domain name registrar change to DROA.

While this process will not cause your website to go down and it will not cause you  to lose ownership of your domain, it can cost you some money - not to mention transfer toa  vendor you didn't want to work with in the first place.

You can read more about this scam here:

Rest assured that as a Brilliance Business Solutions client,  if you use us to manager your domain name services, we will contact you regarding your domain name renewal.  Please never respond to a third-party email or fax to renew your domain name and never hesitate to call us or email us if you are concerned or have questions about the process.
